What to know about me:
Childhood stress would often find me on the couch and eating all day. By age thirteen I was 5’5” and weighed 205 lbs.  In high school, it was the “ladies” that drove me to lose the excess weight.  I began surfing, playing water polo and baseball, swimming, weight lifting and track & field.  I graduated at 6’4” tall and 195 lbs.

After graduating it was surfing that became my true love; but I eventually became interested in weight lifting and endurance.  At 235 lbs, I felt it was time to add some muscle to my tall frame and lose the excess fat. I got a gym membership and began working out with personal trainers and body builders, absorbing every bit of information that would help me to obtain the physique I wanted.  Soon I began to love the life of fitness and wellness. I loved pushing my body to its boundaries and I saw some serious improvements in my health, overall physical abilities, and physical appearance.
After the RNR Half I took time off from running and wanted to experience bodybuilding. I began a 2-year journey to add some muscle to my lanky body. I saw some great results and loved the bodybuilding scene, although I never did compete. Eventually I got bored with bodybuilding and, as an avid surfer for almost a decade, I wanted to try pushing the bounds beyond my perceived limits. In 2008 I completed the America’s Finest City Half Marathon in 1:40:53, a huge improvement on my RNR time two years earlier.

I am an all-natural endurance athlete. I supplement my body only with the best nature has to offer. I work hard to attain the goals I set for myself and believe that I can do anything I put my mind to.  I’ve purchased my nutrition supplements from John at Nutrition Zone for over 3 years now. He has been a major driving force and solid source of information that has helped me attain my goals and aid me in becoming the athlete I am today.

I want to be an example and inspiration to others in my age group, showing them that there are great opportunities for living a healthy lifestyle and achieving personal goals.

My personal goals are to be #1 at Nationals for my age group this year, get into the Junior Development program at the Olympic Training Center, and participate in the 2016 Olympics.

What to know about me:
I got started in motocross at 5 years old when my parents brought home a motorcycle from a garage sale. I had always wanted to ride. My brother raced Supercross, and that always intrigued me. My brother has been able to help me by showing me what ‘not’ to do, and how easily gained successes can go away. My dad really didn’t want me racing.  He pretty much didn’t support me until late 2007 when he gave in to my growing desires and entered me into my first race. I started out dead last, but worked my way up and finished in 3rd place. Needless to say, my dad has done everything he can to support me ever since. My older brother used to ride for Pro-Circuit Kawasaki and was pegged as being better than Ricky Carmichael back when Ricky was supposed to be the ‘kid.”  Unfortunately, he was taken over by drugs and drinking and ended up missing a Supercross race because he was out of his head and showed up late. My brother had the talent, but I believe he lost the drive because he forgot what was important. I’ve learned through his mistakes. I am working stronger, and smarter. There is absolutely no room in my life for drugs or friends that influence me in negative ways. I have my eyes set on my dreams and my goals, and nothing will ever distract me.  Next year I want to race Endurocross and proceed into the ‘A’ class in WORCS. My biggest goal is to get my pro license and see all my dreams and goals all the way through.

As for long term goals, I hope one day to compete in the Olympics, or to represent the United States in MX. I currently train with “Ryno” Ryan Hughes.  I feel that training with Ryno is an opportunity and blessing from God.  I will never give up and never stop believing. When I’m met with a challenge, I find myself working harder in the gym and spending more hours on the bike.  I feel I have a good sense of what it takes to make it both from my own drive and from my brother’s experiences. I am proud of the fact that I’ve gone from beginner to intermediate in a little under a year and a half.   I’m not afraid to work as hard as it takes to achieve my goals.

What to know about me:
I have been pushing myself to be my best in athletics for the past 15 years. I am first a husband, father and pastor. In the time that I
have left I train and complete to please my Creator the Lord Jesus
Christ. He has blessed me with a loving and supporting family. I
have been competing in Time Trials for the past few years. I enjoy
the competition, but my main goal is to do my best for God each and every work out and competition. This has really freed me from being obsessed at times with winning, to realizing that athletic perfection is pleasing my creator. I enjoy the benefits that supplements give me as my body gets older. I get to enjoy the benefits of my early workouts without crashing in the middle of the day.
